Why rape cases are increasing and how to check them?

Now throughout the country rape cases are increasing in spite of so many protests on streets and new law on rape. Some main causes may be as follows.
Unemployment - An idle mind is devil's workshop. It should be ensured that all get proper education and employment. Employment may be direct or indirect. Wheels of mass production has rendered many jobless. There shouldn't be mass production but production by the mass.
Wine and pornography - Nowadays liquor is available everywhere. More and more youth are getting addicted to this. Also due to widespread use of computers and mobiles youth have easy access to porn clips. The fatal combination of wine and porn make many youth sexcited and they look for preys.
Modernisation - Society is fast modernising. Girls are getting equally educated and are working in all fields. So they have to travel everywhere and have to work for long hours. For this they sometimes face atrocities.
In order to avoid rape cases following precautions may be taken.
  • Liquor shops may be drastically reduced. The alternative revenue may be land revenue.
  • Porn sites in the net may be jammed. All obscenity in ads, magazines may be censored.
  • Parents should always see the safety of their girls. They should see with whom their girls are mixing.
  • Girls shouldn't rely upon boyfriends and go to odd places at odd hours. A boyfriend is not sufficient to check the miscreants. Sometimes boyfriends play mischief. So it is better not to depend upon boyfriends at all.

Durga Nagpal case compels us to think of All India Services

The recent incident of young IAS officer Ms Durga Nagpal where she was suspended for wrong reason and declaration that UP Govt can rule without IAS officers compels us to think of creating more and more All India Services. When all engineering and medical entrance exams of India are going to be one, it is not impossible to recruit all administrative officers, police officers, engineers, doctors, UGC lecturers of all states through one exam for each service where entry level is Class I. In all states these posts have become Class I from entry level. They shall be posted in adjoining states but not in home state. By this, selection procedure shall be beyond suspicion. Services shall be more vibrant. Administrators, police officers, engineers may not be pawns in the hands of politicians. Universities are autonomous. In the name of autonomy selection procedure of lecturers is always suspicious. For this quality of education is deteriorating. Quality of education shall revive only when selection of lecturers is through a common all India exam. The burden on UPSC can be relieved by opening branches at other metropolies and recruiting zones may be created.

Is not KBC a gambling?

The programmes like 'Indian Idol' and 'Dance India Dance' select champions through proper screening by holding competitions across the country. Selection is based on merit and not on lottery. But the programme 'Kaun banega crorepati' selects candidates based on lottery. In the hot seat selected candidates answer questions and get exorbitant prices. Normally when a candidate answer questions he passes an exam and either gets a certificate or a job. But in KBC the stake is Rs 5 cr. No question-answer system offers such a price. So KBC is nothing but gambling. Since law of land doesn't permit lottery or gambling, this programme should be banned.

Coal, petroleum and metallic ores should be nationalised to avoid scams

According to CAG report there has been 1.85 lakh crore scam in allocation of coal blocks to private companies. There would have been zero scam had there been no private parties. All natural resources should be nationalised and should be owned and handled by govt agencies only. Had 2G spectrum been nationalised there would have been no 2G scam. Indian railways, SAIL, ISRO are bright examples of how public sector can serve the nation. Natural resources are limited and so need conservation also. Exploitation of natural resources should not be fast with the private participation. Exploitation of natural resources also destroys forest and environment.

Har ghar mein bijli

Prior to 15th Aug'2012 the slogan was 'har gaon mein bijli'. But now the slogan is 'har ghar mein bijli'. Recently we saw many states with around 60 cr people lived in darkness due to failure of power grid. Power grid failed due to excess  draw of power by the states of UP and Bihar. Naturally people of these states used excess power. Everywhere both in urban and rural areas a section of people use electricity illegally by throwing hooks to power lines or use electricity partly legally and major part illegally. They use heaters, air-conditioners, pumps etc. These appliances draw huge power and electric companies don't get return. There is huge loss of power due to transmission and power theft.
So before connecting all homes with electricity it should be ensured that there is no power theft. Production and selling of heating coils should be banned. Otherwise there would be regular grid failures and honest users of electricity would suffer the most.

Irregularity of Rs1.85 lakh crore in allocating coal blocks by the center

According to the CAG report there has been loss of Rs 1.85 lakh crore in allocating coal blocks to private companies. This amount would have gone to the exchequer had there been competitive bidding. Recently we have heard of irregularity in spectrum allocation. There was loss of Rs 1.75 lakh crore due to want of competitive bidding. Looking at these problems we can say that all national properties should be handled and managed by Govt. agencies. Private companies should be eliminated. Coal, petroleum, metallic mines, spectrum should be handled by Govt. We should take the example of Railways. How it is taking care of passengers and goods. Railways would function better if there would not be poll politics. Private companies should handle consumer items only. When companies operate mines it is difficult to monitor how much they extract.and how much they evade tax. India is a democratic socialist republic. But we are deviating from this ideology. Extraction of minerals is not important but conserving them for future generation and saving the environment is more important.

Team Anna's decision of contesting elections is a blunder

When India got independence Mahatma Gandhi wanted to disband Indian National Congress. Because when freedom fighters would contest elections they would loose their importance in the public eyes. Similarly Team Anna's decision of going to elections is misconceived. For fighting elections money is required. Those who have clean background neither can collect money nor can spend money. Even if they get power, power corrupts. They will be no different from other politicians. So it would have been right if the movement would have been carried on. Fight against corruption is a long process. In the society most minds are corrupt. They indulge in corruption whenever they get a chance. Those who are clean may not have got a chance.
